Frequently Asked Questions

Clear Answers on How We Work

Practical information on our executive search process, healthcare revenue cycle specialization, timelines, confidentiality and engagement terms.

01What is executive search, and how does it differ from standard recruitment?
Executive search is a research-led, retained approach to hiring. Rather than advertising a role and reviewing inbound applications, we map the relevant market, approach identified professionals confidentially, assess them against an agreed brief and present a concise, evidence-based shortlist. It is designed for roles where quality, discretion and fit matter more than speed of volume.
02Why does Talvion Search focus only on Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management?
Specialization allows us to understand the roles properly — coding accuracy, denial trends, payer mix, compliance requirements and the operating models used by providers, billing companies and healthcare BPOs. That depth produces better briefs, better assessment and shortlists that require less client time to evaluate.
03Which Medical Coding roles do you recruit for?
We recruit across inpatient and outpatient coding, specialty coding, coding auditors, clinical documentation improvement, coding quality and compliance, and coding team leadership up to functional head level. Credentialing expectations such as CPC, CCS, CIC or COC are agreed with each client at the briefing stage.
04Which Medical Billing and wider revenue cycle roles do you cover?
Charge entry and claims submission, payment posting, accounts receivable and denial management, appeals and recovery, patient access and eligibility, credentialing, and revenue cycle management at Manager, Director and Vice President level.
05How long does a typical search take?
Most searches move from briefing to shortlist within two to four weeks, with offer and acceptance typically following within four to eight weeks overall. Timelines depend on the seniority of the role, the size of the relevant talent pool, notice periods and the pace of client interviews. We agree a timeline with you before starting.
06Can a search be conducted confidentially?
Yes. Confidential searches are a core part of our work, including replacement hires, sensitive restructures and unannounced expansion. Where required, we approach the market without disclosing your identity until a candidate has been qualified and a non-disclosure position agreed.
07Do you support international and cross-border hiring?
We work with organizations across the United States, United Kingdom, Europe and the Middle East, including onshore, nearshore and offshore delivery models. Clients remain responsible for employment, immigration and licensing decisions; we advise on market availability, compensation expectations and practical considerations in each location.
08What are your fees and payment terms?
Fees are agreed in writing before a search begins and are calculated as a percentage of the successful candidate's first-year base compensation. Depending on the mandate, engagements are structured as retained or engaged searches, with invoicing milestones set out in the terms of business. Candidates are never charged a fee at any stage.
09What does the interview and assessment process look like?
We conduct structured competency and motivation interviews against the agreed brief, verify relevant experience and credentials, and provide written assessment notes with each shortlisted candidate. We then coordinate client interviews, gather two-way feedback at every stage, and support references, offer management and onboarding.
10How does a client engagement begin?
It begins with a discovery call to understand the role, team structure, culture and success measures. We follow with a written brief and search strategy for your approval, agree terms, and then begin market mapping. Throughout the search you work directly with the consultant delivering it, with regular progress updates and market feedback.
